Arabian Horse Times and Jeff Wallace European Summer Tour of 2015
Traveling to the Bialka Spring Show this year with Ward and Maria Bemong was very special. Both very down-to-earth people that have a true passion for the horses and a true passion for life in general, as well. I admire Ward’s thirst for Polish Arabian horse knowledge and his drive and determination to get it. For me and many years later, I have never lost this so-called thirst. Our time in Warsaw with Maria’s family was so relaxing and enjoyable as was the drive from Warsaw to Bialka.
Once there it was a race to the barns to see the entries from Janow and Michalow that had already arrived and a sweet and swift tour of the Bialka stock with passionate manager Renata – my new best friend now.
It is so fun to see the young show stock and see what visiting and outside stallions have accomplished, or not, with the mares of the State Studs. Kahil Al Shaqab has truly been amazing. I feel this is not only due to his Gazal sire line but also to his double *Bask++ and Habina++ dam line. In my opinion it is one of the main reasons Gazal blended so beautifully with the mares in Poland and that is his tail female line to the legendary Witraz daughter Ellora, bred inside Poland.
Paris, by Kahil and out of Polish National Champion Mare Palmeta is a beautiful grey yearling colt with the make and shape of his elegant and ultra feminine dam. He is destined for stardom. Pontia by Equator and out of the same Ekstern daughter that produced the Bialka Spring Champion Piacolla by Enzo is a glorious and promising young filly from Michalow that along with the Bronze Champion Yearling Colt, also by Equator and out of a *Kwestura daughter, made the siring abilities of Polish National Champion Stallion Equator look pretty darn promising!
Janow simply brought a string of young beauties by Kahil that the judges seem to respect and love and therefore awarded them with the highest of honors.
Our July issue will have complete coverage of the show and there will be a monthly 8 page spread in every issue dedicated to the Summer Tour blog starting with July!
Who from this show have I daydreamed of owning? Morion and Galerida, of course!
